Is StackSplitter free?
Yes. You can split as many PDF stacks as you like, free of charge, with no account and no watermark.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Splitting runs entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device and is never stored anywhere.
How does StackSplitter detect where a new document starts?
In three ways. By barcode or QR code: pages with a detected code count as separator sheets, are removed on export, and the text in the code becomes the file name of the document that follows. You can create matching QR separator sheets right in the tool under “Create separator sheets”. By text marker: you enter a search pattern, e.g. Invoice, and every matching page starts a new document. Or by blank page: a blank sheet between documents splits them, no printer needed. For duplex scans only a sheet that is blank on both sides splits; a blank back page on its own is just removed.
Can I correct the automatic split afterwards?
Yes. In the page preview grid you can manually add or remove splits and mark pages for removal before downloading the detected documents as a ZIP.
